Lots of effects

To do justice to the theme, we designed this rooms without that typical escape room staple: padlocks. Instead, we have found a few "effective" solutions.

Immersive story

The theme of this escape room is somewhere between science fiction, mystery and time travel. This is the story that you can follow during the game. The completed tasks reveal the story step by step, but the focus is always on your gaming experience as a team.

The challenge

Cool your heads and oil your brain - there's no one to tell you what to do here. But this puzzle journey follows its own logic. And once you've picked up the first tracks, this mission will give you a rush of happiness hormones that only an exit game can.

Background: In this room, it's time to travel

The story

A mysterious journalist, called “the traveler”, lives in a small back room of a Cologne music school as a subtenant. Well, actually she is rarely at home because she is usually traveling.

On her long tours, she has noticed something worrying: People are disappearing. Everywhere in the world. Just as if they had never existed. The traveler sets off. She visits abandoned places, researches and documents the ruins. But no one seems to remember why these places exist. And nobody wants to know anything about it! But the traveler is certain – if things go on like this, sooner or later the whole world will be in danger! What is this mysterious force that triggers all this?

Finally, she tried to get to the bottom of it: she set off on an incredible journey through time – but she never returned from her risky trip. Only a small, weak message got through from her to Cologne…

Can anyone decipher it?

Your mission:

Strange noises emanate from the small apartment, an electrifying crackling, an unsettling tension in the air. As soon as you get there, you come across the travelers’ notes and findings.

She has obviously tried to get to the bottom of the mystery. But she needs your help to complete her work: right here, right now. The world must be protected from a strange and dangerous space-time effect! But will you manage to straighten everything out and keep yourselves safe? The mission demands everything from you, and time is running out…

Follow in the footsteps of the traveler and save humanity!

Game concept

For our second room, we decided to do without the typical padlocks. Doesn’t fit so well with a science fiction setting, does it? We have found some really cool solutions (in our humble opinion) to provide you with lots of exciting tasks and a few tough puzzles.

We give you a lot of freedom in this room as to how you can approach the mission, as there are almost always different tasks to solve at the same time. This also makes the traveler suitable for large teams.

However, we are of the opinion that the puzzles and storyline of this game are not so suitable for children. We have therefore set a minimum age of 16 years. However, this is not an absolute limit for families interested in the subject matter and sophisticated puzzle design. Feel free to contact us!

For families with younger children, we conveniently have our Music Escape Room, the “Magical Music Machine” in a children’s version that works from the age of 11.

Game atmosphere

Because we wanted to put a little more focus on the story here, you will find very varied backdrops. You will first have to look around Anne’s (that’s the name of the traveler) apartment and find out where her journey began. If you want to take a deep breath in between puzzles, we hope the room will tell you the story along the way. Otherwise you won’t be locked in here either and there is plenty of light.

Your commitment is required:

You are not just a consuming audience! In an atmosphere somewhere between science fiction, time travel, mystery and retro-futuristic gadgets, you still play the leading role in a game with innovative puzzles.

Authors

All puzzles, tasks, etc. have been completely designed by the Spybrain design team and brought together into a coherent whole. The room was opened in 2018 and is regularly maintained.
